You know fertility isn’t always as simple as just wanting to have a baby.

Cycle health can seem complicated, especially when things aren’t going as planned.

my philosophy text

Infertility isn’t the problem; infertility is the symptom of a problem.

Meet Catherine

about Catherine Needham

You’ve made the decision to have a baby, but now what? Or maybe you’ve been told that there might be obstacles between you and pregnancy. Maybe it seems like everyone is getting pregnant except you. What do you do next?

That’s why I’m here—because I’ve been there!

Surely there is some way forward between here and jumping straight to fertility treatments, right? I certainly think so.

While reproductive endocrinology and women’s health have been interests of mine since early in college, I never would have guessed then that I would have to apply the information to my own body. However, that is exactly where I found myself in my mid-20s, once my husband and I were settled and ready to have kids…without any luck.

Because of my professional experience in functional and integrative medicine, I knew there had to be something underlying my struggle to get pregnant. Even when the fertility specialist told me my treatment options,

I thought, “Infertility isn’t the problem; infertility is the symptom of a problem.”

So off I went, on my professional-turned-personal quest, digging into every study I could find in the National Institutes of Health database and learning more in-depth cycle charting methods. I tailored my diet, exercise, and supplements to my needs and charted everything…like I was back in school studying for a test.

Despite accurately assessing every sign my body gave me, I was still shocked (and thrilled) when we found out I was pregnant.

Now I apply a personalized, functional medicine approach with every client and teach each one how to be an expert on her own body.
